1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how Loom: Mindful Time Tracking ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our iOS time tracking application (the "App") and its associated backend services. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring transparency about our data practices.
By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
When you use the App, you may provide the following information:
- Activity data: Names of activities you enter, selected categories (Routine, Work, Rest, Health, Social), and quality labels (Flow, Present, Drift) assigned to time blocks on your timeline.
- Time tracking data: Start and end times of activity blocks, daily Flow Goal and Drift Budget settings.
- Evening Close data: Daily alignment ratings, mood descriptions, and personal notes you enter at the end of each day.
- Voice recordings: When you use the AI Fill feature, you record audio using your device's microphone. These recordings are sent to our backend server for processing (see Section 4.3).
- Feedback: If you choose to submit feedback through the in-app feedback feature, the content you provide is sent to our feedback service (UserJot).
2.2 Automatically Collected Information
We automatically collect certain technical information, including:
- App metadata: App version, build number, platform (iOS), and build configuration.
- Usage analytics: Behavioral events such as feature usage, onboarding progress, subscription interactions, and AI Fill usage metrics. These events do not include personal content such as activity names, mood descriptions, or personal notes (see Section 6 for details on PostHog).
- Installation identifier: A randomly generated unique identifier (UUID) created on first app launch and stored locally on your device. This identifier is used for rate limiting and backend authentication. It is not linked to your Apple ID or any personal information.
We do not collect location data (only your timezone is used for time context), contacts, advertising identifiers (IDFA), or any data unrelated to the App's core functionality. We do not use any crash reporting SDKs.
